Nusron Wahid, the Secretary of Prabowo Gibran’s National Campaign Team, responded casually to the statement made by Puan Maharani, who mentioned the existing communication between Anies Muhaimin and Ganjar Mahfud as preparation for merging forces for the second round. Nusron stated that the Prabowo Gibran team currently prefers to communicate directly with the people with the mission of saving state funds.
“Feel free to communicate, it’s no problem. At this time, Prabowo Gibran prefers to communicate directly with the people, both formally, informally, and casually. We are trying to save the people’s money of 27 Trillion by making the Presidential Election just one round,” said Nusron to journalists in Jakarta (Monday, 15/1/2024).
Nusron explained that the importance of this saving should be known to the Indonesian people.
“The Indonesian people also need to know that if there is a second round, it will spend about 27 trillion rupiah of the people’s and the state’s money. 17 trillion for the operational costs and 10 trillion for security,” he explained.
“With the current situation, the people’s 27 trillion is very valuable and can be used for other purposes such as social assistance and other programs. Moreover, after the Presidential Election, we will enter the Ramadan and Eid month,” Nusron continued.
Regarding the two-round Presidential Election, Nusron stated that it not only causes longer political turmoil but also leads to the wastage of the people’s money.
“It is true that it is the right of the people if, in the end, there are two rounds and another 27 trillion is spent. But it is also the right of the people to want this political turmoil to end quickly and their money to be saved for other purposes,” he said.
Therefore, Nusron invited the people of Indonesia to save by choosing only one round on February 14.
“At this time, we have the opportunity for just one round by choosing Prabowo Gibran on February 14. It’s up to the people to choose. So, besides having a strong, sincere, and clear program leader, as a bonus, there is also a budget saving of 27 trillion. This is a multiple profit,” Nusron invited.
