President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, had a meeting with His Majesty King Philippe Leopold Louis Marie of Belgium at the Royal Palace of Laeken in Brussels on 13 July 2025. The two leaders had a warm reception as President Prabowo arrived at the palace and extended a handshake to King Philippe before proceeding inside for an official photo session. They then engaged in a private one-on-one meeting in a friendly atmosphere.
President Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Belgium, Andri Hadi, during the meeting at Laeken Palace. This meeting with King Philippe was the final part of President Prabowo’s series of high-level engagements during his state visit to Belgium. After bidding farewell to King Philippe, President Prabowo departed for Brussels Airport and continued his journey to Paris, France, where he was set to attend the Bastille Day celebrations as a guest of honour.
Earlier in Brussels, President Prabowo also held important diplomatic meetings with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Council António Costa to discuss finalizing the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). These meetings highlighted Indonesia’s diplomatic efforts to strengthen economic relations with the European Union.
