President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of national unity in the face of growing global instability during a Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace. He highlighted the increasing complexity of the geopolitical landscape since the start of his administration, pointing out various ongoing crises and tensions worldwide. From conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria to uncertainties in the global economy due to new tariff policies, Prabowo acknowledged the challenges Indonesia faces.
Despite these challenges, he expressed confidence in Indonesia’s ability to navigate through them, crediting the strength and cohesion of the government’s economic team. He commended the team for their solid work in dealing with economic matters, while emphasizing the importance of a calm, pragmatic, and negotiation-focused approach in protecting national interests amidst turmoil. Prabowo stressed the significance of diplomacy and rational decision-making in safeguarding Indonesia’s people and their welfare.
He concluded that Indonesia must remain realistic and united in addressing global conflicts and economic uncertainties. The government’s primary duty is to protect its citizens, and Prabowo believes that through negotiation and deliberate actions, the best possible outcomes can be achieved in the current challenging circumstances.
