President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, fondly remembers the moment when he was granted the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru by Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on November 14, 2024. This highest honor from the Peruvian government was highlighted by Prabowo during a joint press statement held at Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta during Boluarte’s official visit.
Reflecting on the strong diplomatic relations between the two countries since 1975, Prabowo emphasized the significance of this recognition as a tribute to the entire Indonesian nation. In return, Prabowo presented Boluarte with Indonesia’s highest award, the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, acknowledging her valuable contributions to fostering bilateral friendship and cooperation.
The exchange of honors symbolized the commitment to further strengthening the partnership between Indonesia and Peru. Additionally, the governments of both countries signed cooperation agreements in various fields such as narcotics eradication, anti-illicit trade efforts, food security, mining, energy transition, fisheries, and defense. This collaboration aims to enhance mutual benefits and promote continued growth in the relations between Indonesia and Peru.
