The Free Health Check (CKG) program is seen as a crucial step in promoting a healthier nation, according to Hariqo Wibawa Satria, Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). He emphasized that CKG serves as the initial push towards disease prevention and encourages individuals to prioritize their health throughout their lives. As Indonesia commemorates each Independence Day on August 17, Hariqo envisions not only celebrating freedom but also witnessing more Indonesians liberated from illnesses. President Prabowo’s administration has implemented various priority programs, including CKG, the “Stop TB” campaign, upgrading regional public hospitals, and offering incentives to medical specialists in remote areas. Despite the country’s 80th year of independence, Indonesia still grapples with the economic and social burdens of diseases, impacting productivity and GDP. Investing in public health, Hariqo stressed, is essential not just socially but also economically. CKG plays a pivotal role in health promotion and education, particularly in combatting prevalent health issues among Indonesian children. By striving for a healthier population, Indonesia aims to boost life expectancy, enhance human resource productivity, and drive economic growth. Improved public health could potentially lead to a significant GDP growth annually by reducing illness rates.
