Cirebon – The leader of the Buntet Islamic Boarding School, Mertapada Kulon Village, Astanajapura District, Cirebon Regency, West Java, KH Adib Rofiuddin Izza expressed his support for pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
This support was conveyed directly by KH Adib at the headquarters of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) in the Jakarta area on Wednesday, January 3, 2023.
“Our hope is clear, I have conveyed to Mr. Prabowo at that time, Mr. Prabowo pays great attention to Islamic boarding schools and to the people and the community,” said KH Adib.
KH Adib is confident that Prabowo is not a power-hungry figure, because the former Commander of Kopassus is more eager to serve the nation.
“I am sure he does not expect a position, does not expect anything, only one thing, to serve the nation and country,” said KH Adib.
Furthermore, the charismatic Kiai denied what had been reported earlier, where the name of the head of the Buntet Islamic Boarding School was said to have supported the Ganjar-Mahfud pair.
KH Adib emphasized that he has supported Prabowo since long ago, because he and the Indonesian Minister of Defense have an emotional bond.
“That’s the dynamics of politics, but maybe the ladies or gentlemen do not know my emotional relationship with Mr. Prabowo,” said KH Adib.
In line with this, the Governing Council of the Prabowo-Gibran TKN, M Iriawan, expressed his gratitude for the support.
“Of course I am grateful to him, my teacher, my kiai, from the Buntet Islamic Boarding School, I am from West Java so I have interacted long enough in Buntet when I was there. Certainly, because this is an extraordinary, old, charismatic Islamic boarding school, and it has quite a lot of students,” said the man known as Iwan Bule in the same location.
Iwan Bule is confident that this support will strengthen the voice of Prabowo-Gibran, especially in West Java, so that they can win resoundingly.
“God willing, West Java will bring a quite resounding victory later, we pray. What is certain is that I am grateful to the head of the Buntet Islamic boarding school for the support of our pair Prabowo-Gibran, who God willing will bring Indonesia to progress, prosperity, and peace, and become a developed country,” he said.
